STRANGE GRAND HAVEN
A friend of ours, Kevin Collier, is an author of several children’s books. One day he got this idea in his head to do something a little more, unusual. The result was “STRANGE GRAND HAVEN”. A very interesting little book filled with short stories about the Grand Haven, Michigan area and even a few stories from the surrounding areas. Strange Grand Haven has turned into a series of books with #4 in stores now.
Kevin has compiled many stories about ghosts, monsters, aliens, myths  and legends. He has included stories like the infamous “stairway to hell” and stories of the “blue man” which are supposedly located in Grand Haven. His book also contains stories about an unknown “enormous creature” in the Elk Rapids (MI) area, “glowing lights beneath the surface of Lake Michigan”. He has even included several UFO reports that have been witnessed by many people, including prominent persons and police officers.
There are also stories of things like “foamhedge” in Nunica, Michigan and the lost town of Spoonville, Michigan. Stories of bigfoot, whale-muskies and the dogman. He has lots of stories of reported ghosts in the area as well. Kevin will tell you in most of his stories things like which newspaper he found the story. He has stories in the book that sound so unbelievable and then you read that there are credible witness’ and several papers that have reported the story.
This is one of those little books that once you pick it up, you won’t put it down until your done. I know I didn’t. We are quite proud to have been featured in this book (see page 60 {LOL}).
Kevin finished writing “STRANGE GRAND HAVEN 2” and I managed to grab my copy. “STRANGE GRAND HAVEN 2” is written just like book 1, however, I believe that Kevin was a little more comfortable in writing this one. His stories include the Legend of Shoe Trees, UFO sightings and cover-ups, stories about Dillinger and a local woman who found out that she was adopted only after she inherited 1.6 million dollars from an uncle she never knew. This book includes ghost stories and ax murders, creepy creatures and weird history. Kevin has even included a story about our (GRASPP) work at the Elks Lodge in Grand Haven, MI.
Kevin did a great job on book 2, I liked it even better than the first. Now that books 3 & 4 are out, I have the full collection.
